A recent USA Today article, written by Jefferson Graham, highlights the continued need for small businesses to adopt online video and offers VideoBloom as a solution. The main hypothesis of the piece is one that we at VideoBloom have been preaching for quite some time now: online video is a must for businesses of ALL sizes.
Graham quotes James McQuivey, a Forrester Research Analyst, who states, “"Whether you're a hot-dog vendor in Boston or design firm in Santa Fe, you will be producing video for the Web.” McQuivey justifies his statement by explaining, “Video is how your customers will find you.”
The article goes on to explain some of the challenges facing small businesses in their attempt to incorporate online video into their marketing mix. Predictably, when it comes to online video hosting, the biggest roadblock for many small businesses is cost. Mr. Graham again quotes McQuivey who explains that many small businesses try the free route of online video (YouTube, etc.), but are put off by the unprofessional presentation of free services that place their videos next to unrelated amateur videos, offer little if any customer support and sometimes even place ads over their videos. After this frustration many small business are seeing the value in a paid online video host with businesses like them in mind. The article suggests VideoBloom, among others, as a more professional video hosting alternative.
So does this mean that all professional online video campaigns need to cost you an arm and a leg? No, not at all. The article states that some other video platforms have plans starting as low as $99 a month. We can do one, well actually two, better. VideoBloom has two video hosting plans below $99 a month, our Basic plan at just $19 a month and our Premium plan at $79 a month. So the truth is, your small business can have a professional video platform for less a month than some people spend on coffee in a week!
